FAQ

What is a Fire Suppression System?
A fire suppression system automatically releases a wet chemical agent on to your cooking equipment, in the hood plenum, and in the duct in the event of a fire.  Your gas valve is automatically closed in the event the system actuates and also a micro switch is tripped which calls the fire department.

Isn’t this called an Ansul System?
Ansul is simply a type of Fire Suppression System.

How often is service due?
Fire Suppression Systems must be inspected every 6 months and fire extinguishers must be inspected annually.

What happens if I do not service my system?
This is a contingent liability issue you do not want to deal with.  In the event of a fire, if your system is not properly serviced and does not go off, your restaurant could burn down completely.  Furthermore, an insurance company will be very reluctant to pay out a claim if you have failed to maintain your fire system.  You could also be shut-down by the fire marshal, or face fines.
